ひとことに想いを凝縮している

先日、NPO法人が県からの委託金を得るための審査会があった。

I went to watch a competition of the grant from the prefecture yesterday.

観覧無料だったので、行ったみた。

It was free to watch.

参加者は7分くらいのプレゼンテーションを行い、審査員からの質問が5分くらい。

The competitors gave a presentation in about seven minutes, and then some judges asked them in five minutes.

第2次審査ということで13の団体がいて、3件見て帰った。

It was the second examination, and I watched 3 NPOs' presentation of 13 NPOs.

受けた印象は、みんな本当に金を取る気でいるのか？

I was wondering if they really wanted to get the grant.

4組が選ばれ、年間最大200万、3年間の助成が得られるチャンスなのに・・・

全てのプレゼンが全く的を射ていない。

They were supposed to not catch the main point, even though it had been a chance to get 2 million yen for three years.

200万円で何をどうするのか、どういう効果が期待できるのか、一時的な効果ではなく、長期的に見て息の長い仕組みを作れるのか。

I wanted to know what they will do with the grant, how effective and how long we can expect its advantage.

審査員が聞きたいのは上記のことが基本となると思うが、全く案になっていない。

Every judge also wanted to know the reasons mentioned above, but the competitors could not show them.

予算も立ててないし、需要があるのかどうかも不透明。

They did not calcurate their budget, and its demand was not defined.

案の定、審査員からの質問は上記について具体的に説明してくれ、といったものがほとんど。

It was clear that the judges asked them to explain about specific merits. 

プレゼンした人らは、人から聞いた話を元に、感情に訴えるようなことしか言わないし、そもそも何が言いいたいのか分からない。本人たちも自分で何を言っているのか分かっていないのではないだろうか？

The competitors said the stories they heard from the people directly concerned, or they appealed to judges' senses how much they need it. I could not understand what they meant. In addition, I guess they could not make sense by even themselves. 

今回の教訓は、自分がどういう意図でその言葉を使っているのか、説明できないような言葉は使わないことだ。

This time's lesson is I should not use the words that I cannot explain the reason why I use them.

英語でも同じことが言えます。語彙が豊富な人・理路整然と話す人には説得力がある。

I can mention the same thing about English. I believe the rich vocabularies and decent logic make acception.

どっかの政党の政治家が信用できないのはこういうところか。

This is why I can not believe the some of Japanese politicians.
