卵を使った社会実験

Social examination with eggs.

I am staying a backpacker's hostel where about 30 people live.
私は30人くらいの人らとバックパッカーに住んでいる。

We are many kinds of nationalities such as China, France, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Japan.
色んな国籍が集まっていて、中国、フランス、香港、台湾、ほんで日本。

By the way, I am working for Japanese transportation company.
ちなみに、私は現在、日本の運送会社で働いている。

We deliver many kinds of materials for making Japanese cuisine. For example, they are frozen foods, rice, containers, drinks, and even alcohol.
日本料理に必要な素材を配送していて、例えば冷凍食品や米、容器、アルコールも含めた飲料など。

I got a box of eggs which was denied to receive by certain customer because we couldn't deliver it in order date.
ある日、オーダーのあった日の内に配達出来なかった卵を、その店が受け取りを拒否した。

So, I shared about 120 eggs to house mates.
そこで、約120個の卵をハウスメイトたちにシェアする事にした。

A pack of eggs which is included 10 is sold by 3.5 dollars at even cheaper store. So, they would be glad to share it.
卵はワンパック10個で安くても350円なので、みんな喜ぶだろう。

I could explain some of them about sharing and put it on our public kitchen.
持って帰った時にキッチンにいた何人かに説明し、そのままキッチンに卵を置いた。

And, I wrote down that box, " Free eggs. You can pick as many as you like. Pls let me know before you pick up. and MY NAME."
ほんで、卵の箱に以下のように書いた。「この卵を好きなだけ取っていいです。取る前に教えてください。名前」

This is because I wanted to share it with not only certain people but also the others who were staying in the hostel.
というのは、特定の人らだけでなく、バックパッカーに住んでいる人ら皆へまんべんなくシェアしたかったのだ。

If I examine same thing in Japan, no one would tell me before picking.
おんなじ事を日本でやったら、誰も声掛けて来ないだろうな〜。

However, here is Australia. I expected exciting results.
しかーし、ここはオーストラリア。なんか面白い事が起こってよ～。

One French who is working for bakery gave me a big bread as thanks. I shared it with my coworkers.
あるパン屋で働いているフランス人はでかいパンをお礼にくれた。でかかったんで、会社の人らと分けた。

One Hong Kong person thanked me. This was the first time to talk with him.
ある香港人はお礼を言ってくれた。この時に初めて話した。

A group of Japanese pick one layer -actually, the number of one layer is 30- without my permission.
日本人のグループは、30個ある1層をまるごと持って行った（笑）特に何も言わずに（笑）

In addition, a member of group who is working for Japanese restaurant said to me, " we sometimes get a pack of fish slices which is extra one because your company have delivery mistakes. "
さらに、そのグループのメンバーは、俺が卵をキッチンに置いた時にこう言った。「うちも刺身とかけっこうもらえるよ〜。(うちの会社名)がよく間違えて配達するから（笑）」

Actually, that Japanese restaurant is one of the our customers.
実際、そいつが働いている日本料理屋はうちの客のひとつだ。

I thought this girl wanted to be envious from others as well as spoke ill of us.
なんだこの女。周りから羨ましいと思われたいだけでなく、うちの会社も同時にけなしよる…。

Certain Japanese friend is proud of the culture that Japanese can take care for others, and foreigners don't have this.
ある日本人の友だちは日本には周りに気を使う文化がある事を誇りに思っている。

I disagree his opinion because this result shows it depends on rather personality than nationality.
まぁ、この結果が示すように、国籍というよりも、個人の性格によると思うんで、彼の意見には賛成できない。

I hope Japanese tend to take good care for others.
日本人にそういう意識を持つ人が多いことを望むけど。
